Prosperity is in the atonement. Jesus took care of the curse of poverty when He took care of the curse of sin, sickness and spiritual death. His crucifixion is our place of exchange — it’s where the substitutionary sacrifice took place: sin for righteousness, sickness for health, poverty for prosperity. If you don’t see that He was rich, then you can’t see yourself being rich. Relax, He was the richest man who ever lived. He gave it up worldly wealth so you can enjoy divine prosperity, here on this earth.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
He was rich before the cross, then He became poor upon the cross, so you can become rich after the cross. The cross is where we cross over to the blessings of God, given to us the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ. Surely you see it? That’s how and where you got saved – by His substitutionary sacrifice of Himself! Now that that’s settled, you can accept biblical prosperity without shame.
