His Substitutionary Sacrifice – Prosperiday TV

What Jesus accomplished in His death, burial and resurrection is called His Substitutionary Sacrifice. This is the principle that supports our complete inheritance IN HIM, and it’s the basis of New Testament prosperity.

2 Corinthians 8:9  For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (This is a scripture you need to commit to memory).

Here’s how this principle works: Jesus is the Firstborn Son of God, therefore he is the Heir of all things. It’s called patrimony – the principle of the firstborn. We have become the beneficiaries of Christ’s inheritance. How did that happen? He died.

Hebrews 9:17 says, “For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.” Jesus is the testator. When He died at Calvary, his inheritance passed to His heirs. That’s us who are IN CHRIST.

Now, watch the principle at work: He was life, but He gave up His life and took our death, so we could inherit His life. He was health, but He gave up His health and took our infirmities, so we could inherit His divine health. He was a King, but He abdicated His kingdom, so that we could inherit His kingdom. He was rich, but He gave up his wealth, so we could inherit His wealth. He had to have it before he could forfeit it. He had to forfeit it before we could inherit it.

Now here’s the best part. He rose again, so we are now not the sole heirs, but joint-heirs. We can have our cake and eat it too, IN HIM!
